Escape From New York (15)

Escape From New York

The Loft Movie Theatre is proud to present a one-night special screening of John Carpenter’s 1981 dystopian action classic, Escape From New York.

In the grim future of 1997, Manhattan has been transformed into a maximum-security mega-prison. When the U.S. president’s plane is hijacked and crashes into the city, ex-soldier and convicted criminal Snake Plissken (Kurt Russell) faces a dangerous proposal - to rescue the president in exchange for his freedom.

With just 24 hours to complete his mission before he is left to die within the prison walls, Snake must navigate a chaotic underworld of eccentric characters, dangerous gangs, and power-hungry criminals.

With a great cast including Lee Van Cleef, Ernest Borgnine, Donald Pleasence, Isaac Hayes, Adrienne Barbeau and Harry Dean Stanton, a gritty atmosphere, tense action, and Carpenter’s iconic minimal synth soundtrack, Escape from New York is a cult sci-fi spectacle not to be missed on the big screen!
